The Memphis Sound Band, the official band of the Memphis Redbirds, will be the featured entertainment at Main Street Collierville’s June 7th Sunset on the Square Summer Series Concert. The band plays a variety of Memphis music such as “Mustang Sally,” "Proud Mary," and "Whole Lotta Shakin'" to name a few.

The Memphis Sound band will take you on a fabulous tour of Memphis Music history! From W.C. Handy to B.B. King and the Staple Singers, to Carl Perkins, Aretha, Sam & Dave, Otis Redding, Al Green, Wilson Pickett, Tina Turner, and of course, Elvis...The legacy of Memphis Music, Beale Street, and The Memphis Sound all go hand in hand.

The Memphis Sound Band features Woody Degan, keyboard and lead vocals; Jackie Johnson, lead and background vocals; Buddy Davis, lead and rhythm guitarist and vocals; Neal Bowen, bass; Doug McMinn, drums and percussion; Martin Branch, guitar; Mike Neal, saxophone; and Mark Franklin, trumpet. Main Street Collierville along with Title Sponsor, First Tennessee, and co-sponsors Back Yard Burgers and Boyle Investments along with AIMS Logistics, and the Collierville Community Foundation, Hart Properties, Baptist Memorial Hospital Collierville, Pepsi Americas, YMCA Schilling Farms, Wal-Mart, The 20th Century Club, and the Memphis Grizzlies are proud to offer the concerts to the public free of charge every Thursday night in June in July from 7-9 p.m. Concerts are held in the bandstand in Confederate Park located at the corner of Mulberry and Main Streets in downtown Collierville. Please, no pets or alcohol allowed. The park is handicapped accessible. Of course none of this is possible without the support of the Town of Collierville, Parks and Recreation, Public Works and the Collierville Police Department.

Bring your lawn chairs or blanket and enjoy the great entertainment in the wonderful downtown Collierville setting. Food vendors will be on site offering their specialties: Main Street Concessions, Off the Grill, Blue Coast Burrito, Crepe Maker, Statewide Concessions, and Page Robbins.
