Founder’s Day Celebrated with Release of Book

Main Street Collierville will be hosting a Founder’s Day Coffee on Friday, February 16, at 9:00 a.m. at the historic train depot, 125 N. Rowlett Street, on Collierville’s Town Square. This event will serve two-fold: celebrating Collierville’s incorporation on February 17, 1870, as well as the recent release of Main Street Collierville’s new pictorial history book, Images of America: Collierville.

“I can’t think of any better way to pay respect to those who founded Collierville than to celebrate with the release of this new book recording our history,” stated Laura Todd, Executive Director. “Of course, this project was a huge undertaking and was completed thanks to the support and help of many, especially Nancy Bassett who chaired the committee.”

The public is invited to attend the coffee where the Town of Collierville will offer a proclamation for Founder’s Day. Those involved with the book’s success will also be on site including Mrs. Elizabeth Kelsey, the Cheese Queen featured on the cover.
