2007 continues to be a record year for the Main Street Collierville’s Sunset on the Square Summer Concert Series held each Thursday in Confederate Park on Collierville’s Historic Town Square. Concerts continue on June 28th with Funk De Ville who are coined “The Live Retro Party Machine.” Main Street Collierville along with Title Sponsor, First Tennessee, and co-sponsors Boyle Investments and Back Yard Burgers along with AIMS Logistics and the Collierville Community Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis and Community Sponsors which include Hart Properties, Baptist Memorial Hospital – Collierville, Pepsi Americas, YMCA Schilling Farms, Wal-Mart, Memphis Grizzlies, and the 20th Century Club bring the concerts to the community free of charge.

Funk De Ville promises to return you to those thrilling days of yesteryear, when platforms, flares, and Funk were the passwords to excitement!! Funk De Ville is a 9 piece band with a super tight 3 piece horn section and a funky rhythm section that brings all your favorite 70's songs to life. Funk De Ville's powerful vocals are hard to match. From Sly and the Family Stone, to Donna Summers, to Earth, Wind & Fire, Funk DeVille has a sound that can't be beat. The group features the Reverend Cecil DeVille with lead vocals; “Ms. Soul” Bonnie Gold with lead vocals; “A.C.” DeVille on keyboards and vocals; Maceo “Fill” DeVille on drums and vocals; Gizmo “The Big Chill” DeVille on saxophone and horn arrangements; Robert “Doc Bone” McNamara on trombone; Coop “Bullhorn” DeVille on trumpet; Eugene “Gino” Shively on bass and vocals; and “MC2“ DeVille on guitar.

The concert is from 7-9 p.m. at the Confederate Park located at the corner of Mulberry and Main Streets in downtown Collierville. Please, no pets or alcohol allowed. The park is handicapped accessible.

Of course the concerts would not be possible without the support of the Collierville community, Town of Collierville, Parks and Recreation, Public Works and the Collierville Police Department.
