It was another beautiful evening at Collierville’s historic town square as friends and family gathered for the first concert of the 2007 series. Attendance to the kick-off concert was at an all-time high for the initial concert at approximately 2,350. Crowds gathered at the many vendors and enjoyed everything from burritos at Blue Coast Burrito to crepes at The Crepe Maker to shaved ice at Main Street Concessions.
The next concert is June 14th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. featuring the great soulful sounds of Dani McCulloch. Dani is a self-described small town girl with a Bluesy, Southern Rock musical flair, with some Country thrown in. Dani appeared on American Idol this year as well as continued her touring throughout the United States. She has performed at the White House and Europe and she and her band perform regularly at B.B. King’s Blues club on Beale Street. Dani has performed with such artists as 38 Special, Cathy Mattea, Billy Gilman, Charlotte Church, Sixwire, PinMonkey, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Steve Azar, Buddy Guy and Patti LaBelle.
Concerts are held every Thursday night in June and July at Confederate Park in downtown Collierville from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. No pets or alcohol allowed. The park is handicapped accessible.
The concert series is sponsored by our title sponsor First Tennessee and co-sponsors Back Yard Burger and Boyle Investments along with Entertainment Sponsors, AIMS Logistics and The Community Foundation of Greater Memphis and Community Sponsors, Hart Properties, Baptist Memorial Collierville, Pepsi Americas, YMCA Schilling Farms, Wal-Mart, Memphis Grizzlies, and The 20th Century Club. Of course the concerts would not be possible without the support of the Town of Collierville, Parks and Recreation and Public Works.
