Partners in Preservation Party…Another Winning Event.
Main Street Collierville’s 14th Annual Partners in Preservation Party & Taste of the Town held Saturday, September 23 on Collierville’s Historic Town Square was a
great success. The theme for this year’s party was carried over from last, “Football Frenzy and Tailgate Party…The Second Half!” The event drew crowds of
people wearing team colors and football gear despite the rainy weather which plaque the area. “Even with the rain, this year’s event was a huge success,” stated
Laura Todd, Executive Director of Main Street Collierville. “We were able to raise more than $25,000.00.”
After the kick-off routine from the Collierville High School Pom Squad, guests began entering Confederate Park and sampling the “sidelines” which offered
some of the best cuisine by area restaurants. Tables of silent auction items donated by area businesses could be found inside the Depot.
Guests voted and picked Schnucks Market of Collierville with Super Team Spirit (best decoration) and Carrabba’s Italian Grill won Top Tailgate Grub (best food).
Maggie Moo’s of Collierville also won the “Cheer Off” contest.
“The purpose of these events is not only for the community and social aspect,” stated Laura Todd, Executive Director of Main Street, “but also to bring focus to the
Square and Historic District so that our children and grandchildren will be able to enjoy and appreciate their heritage.” Todd continued, “Those who visit the
Square leave with a sense of appreciation for small-town wholesomeness. It is vital that we preserve that heritage by attracting people to the Square.”
Anyone interested in making an auction contribution or becoming a sponsor of next year’s event can contact the Main Street Collierville office at 853-1666 or email
