Stepping Out to Lunch!

Join us on the historic Collierville square for the 7th Annual Out to Lunch, a free concert presented by Main Street Collierville, Title Sponsors Southern Appraisal and Southern Inspection, and Community Sponsor Pepsi America.  Of course, the events held on the Square are always made possible through the Town of Collierville.  The concert, scheduled for Friday, October 26, 2007, and will feature the great Dixie Jazz of Old Man Johnson and the Cooter River Jass Band who will be performing from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM. 

As an off-shoot of the New Memphis Hepcats, this group continues the traditions of early jazz and blues pioneers from New Orleans and Memphis. The seven-piece ensemble plays classic songs from the likes of Louis Armstrong, W. C. Handy, and Jelly Roll Morton along with the music of the roaring 20’s and early small-group swing.  

Pack your lunch or purchase lunch from The Tennessean Restaurant who will be offering a delicious pork tenderloin sandwich.  After a bite to eat, take a stroll around the square and get some early Christmas shopping done while visiting the many quaint shops.  While the concert is free, visitors to the Square are asked to bring a non-perishable item for donation to the Collierville Food Pantry. 

Other activities offered on the Square will include face tattoos and games offered by Collierville United Methodist Church’s Youth in Missions Pumpkin Patch.  Proceeds from their Pumpkin Patch fund a youth revival trip during Christmas break. 

“What better way to spend a fall day than on the beautiful historic square of Collierville,” stated Main Street Executive Director, Laura Todd.
